No88 Kitchen and Bar - Lerwick

Located on Commercial Street, Lerwick, No88 is inspired by the fresh produce grown in Shetland. With key suppliers as little as 387ft away from the restaurant, you can be sure in the knowledge that you are eating only the freshest locally sourced food, served in a variety of ways. No88 prides itself on its diverse team, both in background and experience, and this is reflected in an exciting menu stemming from a range of different culinary influences, with something to suit all palates. Fjara Cafe Bar - Lerwick

Set on a small peninsula in Brewick Bay, Lerwick, Fjara Cafe Bar is perfectly positioned to provide great views of the surrounding area, as well as the chance to spot some of the local wildlife. Fjara serves food throughout the day, with a range of locally sourced ingredients used for breakfast, lunch and dinner options, and in the evenings this well-placed cafe transforms into a bar for those who wish to have a few drinks and admire the sunset. Victoria’s Vintage Tea Rooms - Unst

Victoria’s Vintage Tea Rooms are located on the north side of Unst, in Haroldswick, making them the most northerly tea rooms in Britain. From humble beginnings in a local village hall, the immediate success meant that the family-run business moved into new permanent premises. There are fabulous sea views from the tea rooms, complete with outdoor seating from clement weather and an adjoining gift shop, ideal for grabbing a souvenir from the most northerly inhabited island in Britain. Homemade soup is available daily, but the centrepiece is of course the range of delicious cakes and sweet treats, perfect for a pit stop whilst exploring this rugged island.  

The Dowry - Lerwick

Another modern cafe bar in Lerwick, The Dowry has a menu comprising of the classics with their own unique twist, with steaks, burgers, wings, and a host of other options to choose from. Using a range of local produce, and serving artisan coffee, beers and spirits, The Dowry has all bases covered whether you’re looking for a light bite for lunch or a relaxing sit-down evening meal. Frankie’s Fish and Chips - Brae

A trip to Shetland is never truly complete without sampling some of the incredible seafood caught around the islands. Where better, then, than to try out Frankie’s Fish and Chips, a multi-award winning fish and chip shop based in Brae. In 2015, Frankie’s was awarded the title of the UK’s number 1 fish and chip shop, which speaks volumes about the quality of food produced here, and the fact that it is all sustainably and locally sourced makes it even better. Peerie Shop Cafe - Lerwick

Positioned behind Peerie Shop in the centre of Lerwick, the Peerie Shop Cafe is a friendly little spot for a nice coffee and freshly made food whilst venturing around Shetland’s largest town. Famed for their breakfasts, it is a great place to start your day, with their Shetland smoked salmon also very much worth trying for a bit of local cuisine.

Extremely popular with locals and visitors alike, Da Steak Hoose offers a truly premium dining experience in the heart of Lerwick, with some of the best steaks money can buy.
